Devotional Thought
Dominion was never designed to work outside intimacy with God.
In the beginning, Adam’s authority flowed from his relationship with God. He was not created to rule independently. He was created to walk with God, hear God, obey God, and represent God.
The fall happened when man tried to take authority apart from obedience. Adam and Eve wanted wisdom and rule without submission to God’s Word. That is where dominion became corrupted.
This teaches us a major kingdom principle:
Authority flows from intimacy with God.
Jesus modeled this perfectly. In John 5:19, He said the Son does nothing by Himself, but only what He sees the Father doing. Jesus lived in complete partnership with the Father. He heard, obeyed, moved, and spoke in alignment with God.
That is how we must walk in dominion today.
As kings, we carry authority. As priests, we remain close to God’s presence. If we try to carry authority without intimacy, pride will enter. If we try to walk in dominion without obedience, rebellion will follow.
John 15:5 reminds us that apart from Christ, we can do nothing. Dominion is not striving in the flesh. Dominion is fruitfulness through connection.
Through Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, we have been bought back for God. Revelation 5 tells us that He made us a kingdom and priests to serve our God and reign on the earth. But our reigning must remain connected to worship, surrender, and obedience.

Key Truth
Dominion is not independence from God; dominion is partnership with God.
Reflection Questions
- Am I making decisions with God or only asking Him to bless my decisions afterward?
- What is the last instruction God gave me that I need to obey?
- Where do I need to return to intimacy, prayer, worship, and surrender?
Action Step
Before making decisions today, pause and ask:
“Lord, what are You saying about this? How do You want me to represent You here?”
Then obey the instruction God gives you

Prayer.
Father, I do not want to live independently from You. Teach me to hear Your voice, trust Your
direction, and obey Your Word. Help me to abide in Christ so that my life produces fruit. Let
my authority flow from intimacy, not pride. Let my decisions reflect Your will, and let my life
represent Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration
I walk with God, I hear His voice, I obey His instruction, and I bear fruit through my connection with Christ.
