Devotional Thought

Dominion is not passive. Dominion requires stewardship.

When God placed Adam in the garden, He gave him responsibility. Adam was not placed there only to enjoy the garden; he was placed there to work it and keep it.

This shows us something important about dominion: whatever God gives us must be cultivated.

God created the garden, but Adam had to tend it. God created potential, but Adam had to bring out purpose. God gave Adam authority, but that authority came with responsibility.

In the same way, God has placed something in our hands. It may be our family, marriage, children, ministry, gifts, work, finances, health, relationships, or spiritual life. These are not random areas of life; they are gardens God has entrusted to us.

Dominion does not mean we control people or do whatever we want. Dominion means we take responsibility for what God has placed in our hands and steward it under His authority.

As kings, we bring order. As priests, we keep our stewardship surrendered to God. We rule under God, not apart from Him. We cultivate with wisdom, protect with prayer, and serve with faithfulness.

Sometimes we ask God for more, but we have not been faithful with what He already gave us. Restored dominion begins when we stop neglecting our garden and start stewarding it well.

Key Truth

Dominion is not only what I command; dominion is what I cultivate.

Reflection Questions

  1. What “garden” has God placed in my hands in this season?
  2. Is there any area of my life I have neglected instead of stewarding?
  3. What needs order, prayer, discipline, or attention this week?

Action Step

Choose one area God has entrusted to you and take one practical step to steward it better today.

You may need to make a plan, clean a space, pray over your family, organize your finances, complete an assignment, encourage someone, or return to a spiritual discipline.

Prayer.

Father, thank You for what You have placed in my hands. Help me not to neglect my

assignment. Teach me to steward my life, family, gifts, work, and calling with wisdom and

faithfulness. Give me grace to bring order where there is disorder and fruitfulness where

there has been stagnation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

I am a faithful steward. I cultivate what God has placed in my hands, and I bring order, fruitfulness, and glory to Him.
