My Sheep Hear My Voice
Anchor Thought
God still speaks to His people, and one of the clearest ways He speaks is through His Word. A believer must not only hear God’s voice but also obey His instruction. Hearing gives direction, but obedience brings alignment.

Scripture
John 10:27
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Devotional Thought
Jesus describes His people as sheep who hear His voice.
This means hearing God is part of our relationship with Him. God does not want His children to live confused, abandoned, or directionless. He is a Shepherd, and shepherds guide.
But John 10:27 gives us three important truths.
First, “My sheep listen to my voice.” This means believers must develop listening hearts. In a noisy world, we must learn to quiet our fears, opinions, distractions, and assumptions so we can hear the Shepherd.
Second, “I know them.” Hearing God is not mechanical. It is relational. We hear Him because we belong to Him and He knows us personally.
Third, “They follow me.” This means hearing God is completed through obedience. If we say we hear God but refuse to follow Him, we are not walking as true sheep.
The voice of God will never lead us away from His Word, His character, or His will. His voice brings correction, peace, wisdom, conviction, direction, and alignment.
As believers, we must not only desire spiritual experiences. We must desire a surrendered life that follows the Shepherd wherever He leads.

Key Truth
The evidence that I hear the Shepherd is that I follow His voice.
Reflection Questions
- Am I making room to listen to God daily?
- What voices compete with the voice of God in my life?
- Is there an area where I have heard God but have not followed?
- How can I become more sensitive to the Shepherd’s leading?
- What is God asking me to surrender so I can follow Him better?
Action Step
Spend five quiet minutes today with no phone, no music, and no distractions. Pray:
“Lord Jesus, You are my Shepherd. Help me hear Your voice and follow Your leading.”
Write down any scripture, conviction, instruction, or reminder that comes to your heart, and test it by the Word of God.

Prayer.
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Shepherd. Teach me to recognize Your voice and follow
Your instruction. Silence every competing voice that pulls me away from Your will. Give me
a soft heart, a listening ear, and an obedient spirit. Lead me in the path of righteousness. In
Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration
I am a sheep of Jesus. I hear His voice, I am known by Him, and I follow Him in obedience.
