YOUR POSITION HAS A PURPOSE

Esther 4:14
“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Reflection
This was Sunday’s teaching: God did not place us on earth simply to exist. We are here for an assignment.
Esther’s story is a powerful example.
She was an orphan raised by Mordecai. Through an extraordinary series of events, this seemingly ordinary young woman became queen.
Perhaps at first, becoming queen simply looked like favour.
Then the crisis came.
Her people were facing destruction, and suddenly her position made sense.
The palace was not simply a place of privilege, it was a place of assignment.
God had positioned Esther somewhere that gave her access to the king at the exact moment her generation needed someone to speak.
This should make us look differently at where God has placed us.
Your workplace may be more than a job.
Your profession may be more than a career.
Your relationships may be more than connections.
Your education, influence, experiences, resources and opportunities may all be part of something God intends to use.
Sometimes we keep asking God, “Where are You sending me?”
And perhaps God is saying:
“Look at where I have already positioned you.”
Esther could have enjoyed the palace and ignored the problem outside its walls. But eventually she understood that favour comes with responsibility.
The same is true for us.
God can give you access because someone needs what you carry.
He can give you influence because there is something He wants you to influence.
He can place you in healthcare, education, business, government, ministry, technology, your community or even within a particular family because the Kingdom of God is meant to enter those places through you.
The question is not simply:
“God, what have You given me?”
The deeper question is:
`“God, why have You given it to me?”

Prayer
Father, thank You for every place You have positioned me. Open my eyes to see beyond
privilege and recognize assignment. Show me the people, opportunities and places You
have entrusted to me. Give me the courage of Esther to use what You have given me for
Your purpose and for my generation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your position may look like privilege today, but it could actually be preparation for an assignment your generation will need tomorrow.
