How it all started...
Christ City Church was born out of prayer, obedience, and a deep burden for people.
For years, Eddie and Folu Adebote sensed a growing call to serve beyond the walls of existing church spaces — a call to help people encounter God in a real, life-giving way, and to build a church where faith feels alive, relevant, and deeply rooted in love.
As they prayed and listened, one thing became clear: God was calling them to Woodstock.
Woodstock is a rapidly growing city, filled with families, newcomers, young professionals, and people from many cultures and backgrounds. Yet research revealed a sobering reality — thousands of people in the city identify with no religious affiliation at all. Behind that statistic are real people: those searching for meaning, longing for community, and hoping for something more.

around kitchen tables, late-night planning, and a small group of people who felt drawn to the same vision. Over time, that group grew into a Launch Team: everyday people saying “yes” to building something new together.
Along the way, the journey has included:

Christ City Church is being planted as a Spirit-led, mission-focused community — a place where people can belong before they believe, grow at their own pace, and discover who God created them to be. We believe God is leading is to ignite a fire that creates passionate worship, Scripture living, commitment to discipleship, which is deeply invested in our city..
