Setting Your Mind on Things Above

Scripture

Colossians 3:2
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
Isaiah 26:3
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You."

Reflection

Our minds are constantly being shaped by whatever we give our attention to.

The world competes daily for our focus through fear, distractions, bad news, and endless opinions.

God invites us to choose something different.

Paul says,
"Set your minds on things above."

This is an intentional decision.

It means allowing God's promises to become greater than our problems.

It means choosing faith over fear.

Hope over discouragement.

Truth over lies.

When our minds remain fixed on Christ, something remarkable happens.

Peace begins replacing anxiety.

Confidence replaces uncertainty.

Joy replaces heaviness.

Not because our circumstances immediately change, but because our perspective changes.

The believer whose mind is anchored in God's truth becomes stable even in unstable times.

The presence of God is experienced most deeply by those who continually choose to fix their hearts and minds on Him.

Prayer

Father, help me to guard my thoughts and keep my mind focused on You. Let Your peace

rule my heart as I continually choose to set my mind on things above. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Key Thought

Whatever fills your mind will eventually shape your life. Fill your mind with Christ, and your
life will increasingly reflect His presence.
